Standard mode contains more detail than intermediate mode. For example, when dicing an onion, standard mode has 5 steps (and 5 images):
1. Cut the onion in half
2. Cut the top off the onion
3. Peel the onion
4. Make 1/2″ cuts in the onion from top to root, being careful not to cut all the way to the root
5. Make 1/2″ cuts in the opposite direction to make 1/2″ pieces
Where intermediate mode would only have 1 step and 1 image:
1. Dice the onion into 1/2″ pieces
If you need more help, standard mode is for you. If you’re somewhat comfortable in the kitchen intermediate mode may be a good choice. It can always be changed (even in the middle of a recipe) on the settings screen by tapping the settings icon
